Name. Trevor Law

Position. Technical Designer

About. I am married to Suzanne and have two sons both of whom are involved in activities/careers away from home one as a chef the other as a Biomedical Scientist involved in research in genetics.

I have worked in architectural offices for thirty years working initially as an architectural draughtsman in major contractor's design office and progressed to a position as a senior architectural technologist in the architects department of a local authority where I worked for seventeen years designing and supervising building projects.

I have worked on a wide range of projects from the township of Bahrain; a Polaris submarine school; varied commercial developments and new university buildings to housing and a wide range of public buildings such as schools and ancient monuments. In 1968 I worked in a contractor's architectural office working on volume local authority housing projects working on the redevelopment of parts of Birmingham and Nottingham.

For ten years I lectured in the university sector on architectural technology and construction courses; my main subject areas being design technology building design construction science and environmental science. I was an adviser on the design of architectural courses and chaired teams on the development of higher level National Vocational Qualifications.

In addition to my civilian employment I have held a commissioned rank in the Territorial Army where I spent twenty years in a Specialist Team of the Royal Engineers. My responsibilities involved me in the survey: design and Inspection of buildings and advising on the use of installations throughout the world for military purposes.

My interests include sailing, painting and art. I also have a healthy interest in buildings and the environment. I have played rugby at a senior level and have for several years trained and led teams in military shooting culminating in the annual events at Bisley.
