Name. Tony Coghe Position. Director About. At 17, I left full time college and started working for a local builder / pre-cast concrete manufacturer, designing swimming pools and pre-cast concrete products on the drawing board. Attending day release at Southampton Technical College and later Southampton Institute studying ONC & HNC building construction. |
After approximately 4 years, I moved to the design office of a regional building contractor - Reema Construction, producing drawings for large concrete products, system build factory units and the first of many social housing schemes. Reema Construction became Hall & Tawse then finally Alfred McAlpine Partnership.
After 24 years surviving take-overs, management re-structuring and many rounds of redundancies I had worked my way up to Regional Design Manager. I was then responsible for a design team of 12 in Southampton and also the design co-ordination firstly in Bristol for the South West Regional Office and laterly in the London Regional Office in Mitcham Surrey. On the closure of Alfred McAlpine I moved to an Architects Practice in Romsey for 5 years where the basics of Autocad were learnt.
In March 2005 Chris (I’ll have a beer) Crawley and Steve (Mr Angry) Dalton offered me the opportunity to start Dalton Crawley Partnership, I have relished the challenge of building a technical team, that will provide our clients with quality and accurate drawings.
I am married to Lynne, we have a daughter Gemma who is married to Nick. We have a fantastic grandson Ben.( Born December 2006).
I am a keen DIY’er and have spent many an hour working on our house or helping relatives and friends with their own projects. Now that Ben is around very little time is found for DIY much to Lynne’s relief. When not in the office or with Ben, it’s time to relax.
