DCP's masterplanning & urban design division understands the importance of creating spaces where people want to live, work and spend leisure time. Design is a catalyst for regeneration and the re-invention of places must draw people in. Good design alone is not enough. The buildings, public spaces and infrastructure all need to work at a practical level to ensure the sustained development of a new community.
We understand how successful towns and cities work and have built up considerable experience and expertise in designing mid and high density schemes on development sites. Each have their own set of challenges, be it historic, archaeological or infrastructure constraints. Such challenges, coupled with 21st century issues such as energy efficiency, reduction of car dependency and other environmental issues, place increased demands on anyone involved in property development and DCP seeks to provide solutions these issues.
From negotiating with the local authority on the use of the land to the detailed urban design and the specific uses of the site, DCP's team combines inspirational design with commercial realism throughout the development lifecycle.
